    Classic Update
Combining a trendy color such as olive green with traditional browns and whites creates a balance between old and new. The headboard is reminiscent of an old-fashioned fireplace mantel. A modern piece of art keeps up the old-new dichotomy.

    Tropically Traditional
Painting the wall bright yellow was a bold move and a chance worth taking. The warm color contrasts with the rich wood of the beautiful sleigh bed. Adding the plant and the botanical prints was a great way to carry the tropical theme.

    Seeing Red
Pairing red and white with dark wood instantly creates a classic room. The furniture is beautiful, as are the bed linens. Bringing in other touches of red, such as the armchair and the flowers, keeps the color theme consistent.

    Cottage Chic
Rich fabrics contrast the beautiful pastel color palette of coral, green, and yellow. Keeping the walls a neutral color really lets the quilt and bed treatments shine through.

    Look Up
Such a great ceiling deserves to be showcased. The tall four-poster bed draws the eye up to the tray ceiling. Painting the two green stripes breaks up the white of the ceiling, showing off the architectural details.

    A Relaxing Retreat
This bedroom was designed to meet the homeowner's needs. Dark curtains coordinate with the bedding. Because the husband sleeps during the day, the curtains are functional because they can be opened and closed as needed. Plus, the four-post bed is beautiful.

    Making It Work
Redecorating doesn't have to be a complete overhaul. Working with the red walls and carpet was a budget-efficient choice and resulted in a room the homeowner loves.

    Bargain Beauty
Creating a bedding set by mixing and matching takes a good eye. The blues and browns in this set look great together. As the homeowner found out, part of decorating is the thrill of the hunt. Wonderful pieces show up in unexpected places, like tag sales and outlet stores.

    Bringing Beauty Together
French country is a style based on beauty. In this guest room, gorgeous elements such as rich bedding, drapes, and art create an exquisite atmosphere. Yellow and celadon add a contemporary touch. The crystal chandelier really tops off the room.

    Soft and Pretty
The beige walls, carpet, and bed were dotted with not only color, but different textures as well. The dusty rose bedspread is light and feminine. Wrought-iron work on the bed and plant stand is a weightier, but elegant element.

    Fabrics Take the Cake
Neutral walls and carpeting in warm tones bring the bedding and throw pillows to the forefront. The rich fabrics in browns and blues really dress up the room.

    Layer Upon Layer
Pairing green and brown is a fun, yet sophisticated, way to color a room. Layers of rich damask and satin fabrics also play up the elegance.

    Entwined with Vines
Lime green and white is a crisp color pairing. The fabric used on the bedding and valances is great. The vine-like pattern of the fabric carries through to the wrought iron bed.

    Old Fashioned Grace
The romantic style of yesteryear is brought alive in this present day bedroom. The chair rail is a classic touch and the long tapestry pillow adds charm.

    Fireside Bedroom
The warm and soothing tans and blues set the atmosphere for this bedroom. The addition of a fireplace makes for a cozy and intimate bedroom.

    Storybook Cottage
Charming cottage touches, such as the shutter headboard and the handkerchief border, are a nod to creativity. Soft colors and textures are warm and inviting.

    Fantastic Fabric
The blue and white fabric goes great with the yellow walls. The white pictures really pop on the walls. Plus, the yellow in the pictures matches the walls.

    It All Works Out
Unlike pieces work together as part of a cohesive room. Brown stripes in the contemporary bedding match the dark wood traditional bed frame. The curves of the chaise lounge update a classic piece. But the deep aqua accent wall really completes the room.

    Regal Touches
Enrobing a room in dark colors is a bold choice. But it can create a rich atmosphere, especially with a color palette of plum purple, crimson red, and cream. The fabric used on the bedding is equally luxurious.

    Jewel Box
Iridescent fabrics create a jewel box display of pillows. The variety of fabrics and trims is also intriguing.
